DS253ch, please? (I would have grabbed it when it was first released, but had to wait a few days for my ISP account to roll over, as I was close to my monthly data limit…) Thanks so much, OD, for the new decode!

    • oxforddickie November 5, 2016 at 21:27 #

It’s being seeded so i suspect your torrent client isn’t set up as required. Double check you have it set right with the information on the torrent page.

    • zaphod2359 November 5, 2016 at 21:28 #

      I’m on it!!

    • Owen Smith November 5, 2016 at 21:46 #

I am seeding DS253ch. No sign of you.

      • Michael Eldridge November 5, 2016 at 22:47 #

Thanks very much for your response, all. I’ve never had trouble downloading a DS torrent before (and have never had to change my settings)–but admittedly it’s been a while, and I may have changed clients in the meantime. I’m using the latest version of Deluge, whose DHT settings want me to specify a “type”: http with or without Auth or Socks v4 or 5 with or without “Auth”–and also to designate a port (default is 8080). Anyone familiar with this?

        • oxforddickie November 5, 2016 at 22:51 #

Afraid i know nothong of the program but all yoi need to do is to ensure the settings as specified on the blog are set correctly. Nothing else.

          • Michael Eldridge November 5, 2016 at 23:22 #

Neither Deluge nor Vuze wanted to play nicely, but I just downloaded BitTorrent, which is working fine. Thanks once more. Looking forward.

        • Owen Smith November 5, 2016 at 22:57 #

DHT is now irrelevant, all releases made for the last 2 years on this blog don’t use DHT. Whatever the problem is, it’s not that.

I will add however that other torrent software just has an On/Off button for DHT so Deluge does seem to be making things hard on purpose.

  2. zaphod2359 July 18, 2016 at 16:33 #

    now seeding also

  3. Q! July 18, 2016 at 11:50 #

    DSC574ch please! Thank you!

    • oxforddickie July 18, 2016 at 11:58 #

Am already seeding it. Again i say…. Check, then double check all settings.

    • Owen Smith July 18, 2016 at 12:50 #

I am also seeding this title. Check you have encryption enabled in your torrent software and check your firewall and router.

      • Bruce July 18, 2016 at 22:03 #

If I may put my 2 cents in… I had encryption on, but what I believe I needed to do was to “Require encryption”. That appeared to be what allowed me to see your sites.

      • Owen Smith July 18, 2016 at 23:10 #

That’s not an option I’ve ever heard of, it’s not in uTorrent. What torrent software are you using?

And actually, if it does what it says then it is buggy. Require encryption would mean you only allow encrypted connections, to me or anyone else. That’s wrong. So long as you use encryption to me, I don’t care if you use unecrypted to other people. Hence “allow encryption” should be enough.

Thanks for the advice, it’s worthwhile to know. It’s still a bug in that torrent software though.

        • Bruce July 18, 2016 at 23:29 #

I’m using Vuze. I had the same assumption, so I didn’t check it. I checked everything I could find that mentioned encryption, except that. So the last time I did a download from you guys, when it still didn’t work, I gave it a shot and suddenly it was working. The actual button I checked that seemed to make it work was: “Require encrypted transport”. Now maybe that has nothing to do with it, but that was the only change I made this last time.

          • oxforddickie July 19, 2016 at 08:21 #

That is exactly what is required. Different programs may list it slightly differently but basically it’s the same thing as mentioned.

  4. Bruce June 26, 2016 at 18:35 #

Could I get a little help with CB026 Bob Dylan’s Planet Waves? It looks like I’m still having trouble linking to the main server. 😦

A friend of mine who knows a lot about torrents recommended that I sign up for a server on Feral Hosting. Solving these issues is complex because of all of the variables. He claimed that Feral should just work and any issues would have to be with the hosting server. Anyone have any comments on this idea?

    • Owen Smith June 26, 2016 at 22:58 #

My server had been down earlier today for a disc swap, but it’s back up and gradually copying things across. All the Captain Beyond titles are being seeded now and indeed there were seven of them downloaded as soon as the server came up. This includes CB026 so as usual with torrents I don’t know why you can’t get to me. You do need DHT and Encryption enabled for CB titles.

I have had connections from people using feralhosting.com who have downloaded things. I can’t say for sure it will work for you.

OD’s much larger catalogue of titles is still being copied across, some are being seeded and some not. They should all be back in a day or two.

      • Bruce June 26, 2016 at 23:15 #

Thanks for the response Owen. I do have DHT and Encryption enabled. I’ve got a very slow link from someone right now, so that’s fine for now.

Okay… One of us did something. 🙂 Are you on the 81.187… network? I changed a setting, requiring encryption, and suddenly it showed up. If that is you, then maybe that was my problem all along. Again, thanks for the help.

I’ll probably be back soon, what with the pound not doing so well right now. 🙂

      • Owen Smith June 27, 2016 at 09:37 #

81.187 sounds like me. Should be in domain owensmith.net.

    • zaphod2359 June 27, 2016 at 02:27 #

      now seeding

      • Bruce June 27, 2016 at 06:56 #

        Got it. Thanks!

  5. Bruce June 4, 2016 at 21:26 #

Could someone reseed DS217 ? Thanks.

    • Owen Smith June 4, 2016 at 21:41 #

Pink Floyd Pompeii – excellent choice! I’m seeding it and have been for probably years, don’t know why I don’t see you. However for an old title like this you need to make sure DHT is working.

      • Bruce June 5, 2016 at 00:33 #

Thanks Owen. I’ve got DHT checked but nothing is coming up. I posted another note because I guess I’m not connecting to you guys at all; only the re-seeders.

      • Owen Smith June 5, 2016 at 10:56 #

You need encryption enabled to talk to my server, though that only applies to the torrents themselves not the private tracker.

        • oxforddickie June 5, 2016 at 11:03 #

As i mentioned in my reply, all the information regarding the requirments for downloading is stated on the main blog s if in doubt please re-read it carefully.

Is DHT working at your end?

  6. scott colburn May 7, 2016 at 16:18 #

Could someone reseed DS87f Seastones? Many Thanks!

    • oxforddickie May 7, 2016 at 19:04 #

      Seeding now

    • Owen Smith May 7, 2016 at 21:31 #

Seeding, but I see no-one downloading.

      • scott colburn May 8, 2016 at 19:04 #

Many Thanks! Looks like I wrote this request and there were 3 of us waiting. When I came home, my computer was locked and after the restart, I see that it is down now. Strange thing these innertubes. Anyways, I will continue to seed now if anyone wants it.

  7. Owen Smith March 6, 2016 at 14:25 #

My server is now running again (had to install a different version of uTorrent). So the blog now has two trackers working again, and I’m seeding all the various things people asked for recently.

  8. zaphod2359 March 5, 2016 at 13:05 #

DSC560p-I’ve not connected with anyone yet on this one. I’ve rebooted, restarted Transmission, and deleted and re-added the torrent file. Ideas?

    • oxforddickie March 5, 2016 at 17:09 #

This does belong over on the other blog, but i’ve been seeding since its release. Ideas? It’s down to the old reply i’m afraid, settings as per those on the blog and ensure that any router/modem isn’t causing any issues.

May i point out that just because any of you hasn’t had a problem before may well be because you’ve actually been accessing the files from others, and not directly from either Owen or myself. It’s only the lack of other seeders that shows up possible issues.

  9. rockysquirrel March 5, 2016 at 00:15 #

DS432f – John Lee Hooker – Kabuki Wuki, please. Thank you in advance.

  10. rockysquirrel March 3, 2016 at 23:35 #

    I don’t see a seeder for DS39p – ELO, now. Thank you.

    • zaphod2359 March 4, 2016 at 01:30 #

      seeding now

    • rockysquirrel March 4, 2016 at 16:22 #

Is the tracker down? last night, ELO would not download. Today I got 37% from OD, then it stopped. Nothing from Dreaming Spires is uploading.

      • oxforddickie March 4, 2016 at 17:33 #

Firstly i’ve not been able to access the blogs email account, having been locked out. I now have regained control of it.

I have initiated a reboot which may take a little time due to the number of updates needing to be installed. I’m hoping that any issues will have been resolved.

Odd that Owen and i have been having problems at the same time…….

        • oxforddickie March 4, 2016 at 18:00 #

Computer rebooted and moo tracker working as before. I still see nobody attempting to download the two titles in question. During this time there have been others who have downloaded so all i can think is there is an issue elsewhere?

          • rockysquirrel March 4, 2016 at 18:47 #

I had shut-down for awhile, but ELO is still not downloading. Not firewalled, and port forward settings are correct. Should DHT be off?

            • oxforddickie March 4, 2016 at 19:07 #

DHT is not used on that ‘private’ torrent so it would be wise to leave it on for those torrents that need it.

I don’t know what the answer is, others have downloaded from me so why there is suddenly a problem is confusing. I’ve just rebooted my modem ‘just’ in case it’s playing up (it’s Virgin and it’s rubbish).

          • oxforddickie March 5, 2016 at 08:23 #

I’ve temporarely swapped client and now have one person connected downloading ELO. I’ll need to look into this later tonight as won’t be around much of the day.

            • Alfie March 5, 2016 at 18:09 #

Got ELO now. Managed a ratio of 1.5 so hopefully others got it too. Thanks to all involved.

  11. Alfie March 2, 2016 at 13:53 #

DS553P and DS39P (Threepenny Opera and ELO – ELO).

The first one is a relatively new torrent and I’ve been on it for nearly two weeks, so it looks like a connectivity issue – I’ve just swapped trackers, so hopefully that will make a difference.

    Many thanks in advance.

    • oxforddickie March 2, 2016 at 18:37 #

      I’m seeding them, but

What do you mean you’ve swapped trackers? Playing with the torrent will only stop it working.

If you unable to connect to me with virgin torrents then you have an issue in your set-up, but we’ve been down that road before.

      • Alfie March 2, 2016 at 19:26 #

Yeah, I think I mentioned last time that I’m on a seedbox with little control of the settings. If I remember correctly, moving from Deluge to rtorrent got things moving last time and seems to have done so again for Three Penny Opera. No luck yet with ELO but we’ll see…

I don’t have problems with other trackers but that’s probably just because there are many more seeds to connect to.

      • Owen Smith March 3, 2016 at 00:43 #

The current blog releases (except CB titles) use two private trackers, DHT and Peer Exchange are not permitted in the torrent file. Changing trackers won’t do anything helpful, only the two the torrents came with will work.

Also my uTorrent installation failed yesterday, some weird error about runtimes. No I didn’t change anything. So at the moment only the dreamingspires.mooo.com tracker is working, and I can’t seed. I’ll try to sort out my server this weekend.

        • Alfie March 3, 2016 at 10:23 #

Sorry, I meant change client, not tracker. Hopefully it will start moving over the weekend. Thanks very much for your help.

          • rockysquirrel March 3, 2016 at 19:23 #

I just started seeding Threepenny Opera if you still need it.

            • Alfie March 4, 2016 at 12:26 #

Thanks very much, but I managed to complete that shortly after posting. I still can’t see anyone seeding ELO strangely, though.

  12. John February 27, 2016 at 17:50 #

DS253f Steely Dan, Can’t Buy A Thrill – I’m half way there on this one, just need a little help to complete. Many thanks!!

    • oxforddickie February 27, 2016 at 19:55 #

      Am seeding this title

    • Owen Smith February 27, 2016 at 22:02 #

Same here, but I see no-one downloading. Usual torrent mysteries.

  13. T Bradley February 27, 2016 at 01:21 #

These two for at least the past week since I first saw them have had no seeds.

    CB023 Seals & Crofts – I’ll Play For You
    DS341f – George Benson _ Body Talk

    • Owen Smith February 27, 2016 at 01:59 #

I have been seeding both all week, and longer. You will DHT enabled to find me for these titles, and Encryption enabled to download anything from me. If those are both enabled then look at your router and firewall setup.

      • T Bradley February 27, 2016 at 02:21 #

Although I’m new to torrents, the BitTorrent Pro 7.9.5 preferences show that I have both DHT and Encryption enabled and I know I have successfully gotten other titles from you today so I’m not sure what I’m overlooking?
I’m actually getting CB016 from you and someone else right now. The DS341f download also started a few minutes ago, moments after I received notification of your reply so I figured it was coming from you but it doesn’t show your ipv4.owensmith.net in the peers list so apparently I’m getting it from someone else?

      • T Bradley February 27, 2016 at 04:54 #

So I walked away from the computer for a while today, like 2-3 hours and both of them were started today (for the first time since I added them) when I came back in to check on things.

        • Owen Smith February 27, 2016 at 21:54 #

The mysteries of torrents. Sometimes they just seem to have a mind of their own. I didn’t do anything so it simply started all by itself.

    • rockysquirrel February 27, 2016 at 04:48 #

Just started seeding the Seals & Crofts to someone in the US a few minuets ago. Sorry, I don’t have the George Benson.

      • T Bradley February 27, 2016 at 08:30 #

It was probably me based on the time a seed appeared for me and the fact that I’m in the US.
        If so, Thank you!

    • zaphod2359 February 27, 2016 at 16:59 #

seeding both now if I’m not too late!

DS58p – John Keating: Space Experience

    Thank you

    • Owen Smith February 22, 2016 at 20:11 #

      I never stopped seeding this.

      • Glen February 22, 2016 at 23:07 #

Yes, I saw you there, but it always reads “…disconnected”. If OD is downloading with Tixati 1.99, then I assume you are the other UK download and nothing ever comes through. I have no idea why. In fact, when I made the request, you both were there with the “B/s In” stating 0 for the better part of an hour. Again, I have no idea why. Generally, my downloads are all over the place; it will hover in the 30k to 60k range for an quite some time. Then, when I check back later, it is up in the 280k to 310k range. Frankly, there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason. Input is always welcome.

      • Owen Smith February 23, 2016 at 00:29 #

I’m on ipv4.owensmith.net, I have my own domain name. If it’s not that name (or ipv6.owensmith.net) it’s not me. I am in the UK but all domain names to do with my name had already been registered in the UK, and .net was the next available.

The trouble is for a lot of people network problems are not entirely under their control. ISPs have “fair usage policies” which are actually unfair (they’ll slow down any traffic they don’t like or isn’t associated with big business). So some people find torrents slow down, others that they only get decent bandwidth within their own ISP and so on. My ISP doesn’t do this, it costs more but I get a connection that doesn’t shape traffic or block ports etc. It’s hard for me to know from my end what yours does.

The fact that you can’t connect to either myself or OD is more revealing. That makes it unlikely the problem is with either myself or OD. We’re on different ISPs (he’s on cable) and we run different torrent software. The problem is probably either in your ISP or at your end.

But some traffic must be getting through, because myself and OD run the private trackers. If you couldn’t get to either of those, you wouldn’t be able to download anything after DS411p (does not apply to CB titles). I’m unsure how to progress this.

    • Owen Smith February 16, 2016 at 20:56 #

      Same here.

      • atq February 17, 2016 at 14:09 #

Ok, thanks guys. Looks like I’ll have to give up on this one. I have re-checked my settings as per instructions and they are (and were) as required, i.e. Encryption enabled, Port > 10000, DHT enabled.

I have grabbed a number of other donation-based items both before and after this, so in general terms my connections and settings were and still are working. (I appreciate that I may just have been lucky with all my other items – maybe they all came from other sources.)

        • oxforddickie February 17, 2016 at 16:21 #

I suspect that is the case, your downloading from others that happen to be seeding those particular titles.

There is more to being able to connect to both myself and Owen, but it becomes difficult to help anyone as every set-up is different in so many ways.

I would recomend you look at, for starters, your firewall, ensuring that your torrent client is allowed full access, then moving onto the router. Being able to connect to us is the prefered method so your not just reliant on others.

          • rockysquirrel February 17, 2016 at 16:37 #

If you are behind a router and you are using Windows, you have to configure the router for a static IP address. This webpage makes it fairly simple: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/ .
Do not download the software they are trying to sell.

          • Owen Smith February 17, 2016 at 23:44 #

Indeed, port forwarding and firewalls are the next thing to check. You can avoid having to do this if your router supports UPNP and you have it turned on and your torrent software can use it (eg. uTorrent) and has it enabled. But as UPNP on the router is a security risk (web pages can open holes in your router firewall) I’d do it by specifically forwarding a port in the router.

Also I only support TCP torrent traffic, I have UDP/uTP turned off (despite all the claims that it’s wonderful, it actually works against the design of the Internet). So if your software can’t do TCP torrents or has them disabled, you won’t be able to get to me. qBitTorrent had this problem when OD was trying to seed with an old version of it on a Raspberry Pi.

            • oxforddickie February 18, 2016 at 00:10 #

Completely forgot about that, and guess what he’s using…..

            • Owen Smith February 18, 2016 at 00:42 #

However, a number of other people regularly download from me with qBitTorrent. I suspect the TCP not working problem is restricted to certain versions and/or configurations.

              • atq February 18, 2016 at 11:16 #

Thanks all. I am using qBitTorrent, latest version. It is allowed through my firewall. UPnP is enabled on my router. Crucially, I tried re-downloading a different file and OD confirmed that he could see me. I’ve never had a problem with any other file before or since. So I’m happy to just assume this is a one-off problem (probably with the actual .torrent file) and not waste any more of anybody’s time (though OD kindly said he would try to create a new version of the target file). If I get problems in the future I may have to investigate the qBitTorrent/ TCP angle more closely. (I can’t see anything in the options regarding TCP, so it looks like qBT either uses it or it doesn’t. ) Thanks again.

  19. Glen February 15, 2016 at 10:47 #

    Great. That’s better. Thanks.

    • Owen Smith February 11, 2016 at 20:56 #

I’m still seeding DS33f-2 and I still see no-one downloading. Plenty of other traffic, so much so I’ve had to block one abusive downloader’s IP address.

      • Glen February 12, 2016 at 01:19 #

I do not know what to tell you. I started the download when I left for work. Now, 9 1/2 hours later, I’m at 93%. It is a 5.8 GB download which probably has something to do with it. I’m just glad it is finally getting done.

I’m seeding too, but no-one is downloading. This is an old release, make sure you have DHT enabled as many (all?) of the public trackers are dead.

      • oxforddickie February 10, 2016 at 00:34 #

There’s one tracker that came back to life a while ago and is still holding in there, but it won’t be long before these older releases will be totally reliant on DHT, that is until they get upgraded, then it’s curtains for them.

    • rockysquirrel February 10, 2016 at 00:50 #

I am also seeding this but I don’t see any lechers.

  24. Glen A. Gill February 9, 2016 at 13:51 #

DS33f-2 No one is there. This is a large download (over 5 GBs). I started it last night before going to bed. Now, no one is there.

Also, if you can help. I am…was… seeding about 15 items I had previously downloaded. They were green. They are now a dark red color. Total confusion here.

    • oxforddickie February 9, 2016 at 14:44 #

Including myself i see two seeders but nobody attempting to download

      • Glen February 9, 2016 at 15:06 #

This may be my screw-up. Somehow (I don’t remember doing it) I went from 3.4.2 to 3.4.5. I queued up all of the titles you sent. I tried each individually. I cannot get one to download. Do you know how I can get back to 3.4.2 (that may not even be the problem)? For DS33f-2, I did get a 10.3% download, but nothing after that. I’m going to shutdown and try again when I get off of work.

        • oxforddickie February 9, 2016 at 15:44 #

As long as you have the install file you should be able to install over it.

          • Glen February 9, 2016 at 21:15 #

Ah, no I don’t. But I can get it online. So, basically I guess I’m going to start over.

          • Glen February 9, 2016 at 21:34 #

I do not know if it was just me, but I would avoid 3.4.5 version. I went online and re-downloaded 3.4.2. and it appears to be working; green check and all. I lost all that I was seeding, however.

        • Owen Smith February 9, 2016 at 21:37 #

I think you got the 10% from me, someone was downloading DS33f-2 recently. I am still seeding it, and others are getting things from me including people running uTorrent 3.4.5.

          • Glen February 10, 2016 at 00:09 #

Then I have no idea what the problem is. Currently, the only download is coming from OD. You are still listed under the Peers tab, but no download is indicated. Your downloading stopped at 22 MB. Plus, I have someone from Ottawa, Canada that is uploading from me and at a faster rate then OD’s download. Go figure.

    Thank you.

    • oxforddickie February 7, 2016 at 18:56 #

      • Glen A. Gill February 7, 2016 at 19:34 #

If you are cpc13-oldh10-2-cust71.10-1.cable. virgin.net, then, yes. You are one of two. But the other is not at all.

    • Owen Smith February 7, 2016 at 19:16 #

I’ve never stopped seeding this, but no-one is downloading it.

      • Glen A. Gill February 7, 2016 at 19:30 #

If you are “ipv4.owensmith.net” you are one of two listed under Peers. Yet, there is no download (down speed) indicated; it is blank. Any suggestions?

      • Owen Smith February 7, 2016 at 19:45 #

That’s me. I have no idea why there is no traffic, I have plenty of bandwidth available since I got FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet) and at the moment there’s one downloader. Your connection shows encryption is enabled and you’ve found me, that’s normally the end of problems. Perhaps your ISP is traffic shaping you? Have you checked ports are enabled through your router, or do you have upnp enabled?

        • Glen A. Gill February 7, 2016 at 21:09 #

Yes, everything appears fine. I even finally got back the green circle. You are still there but nothing. I am getting download from OD. Go figure.

    • oxforddickie January 20, 2016 at 11:23 #

I’m actually seeding these, and have been for some time. I see no peers attempting to download, and the fact that you’ve requested seeds means your not seeing Owen either.

As per our previous emails regarding your inability to connect to me, and if as you say, your client/computer is correctly set-up as per the instructions then there has to be something else amiss at your end.

Sorry i can’t be of further help, but as others are connected here at this very moment, and i’ve not long since re-booted the computer, i’m afraid it time for a little investigating.

    • Owen Smith January 20, 2016 at 13:31 #

As OD says, I’m seeding both of these (never stopped) and I don’t see you. Others are downloading from me. There must be something amiss at your end, sorry. Most likely reason is you don’t have Encryption enabled, but there are other possibilities eg. you only have UDP enabled in your torrent software but your router blocks this.

      • Alfie January 20, 2016 at 22:11 #

Thanks both for your comments. I use a seedbox so I have little control over the set up, but I’ll try other clients to see if that makes the difference. Last time it just started to work of its own volition before I got a chance to investigate further.

        • oxforddickie January 21, 2016 at 00:08 #

That’s probably why you can’t connect. You need to connect directly to be able to connect to either of us.

        • Owen Smith January 21, 2016 at 00:21 #

There’s nothing inherently wrong with a seedbox, it’s just a server on the internet in a data centre in it’s simplest form. The term seedbox just means “a server running torrent software”. It’s not really any different to running uTorrent on a PC in terms of how it communicates over the Internet, it just happens to be in a data centre not on home broadband, and often runs unix not Windows, and the torrent software runs with remote management not direct in the Windows GUI. Each of those may impose issues eg. does the torrent software allow Encryption to be enabled, does DHT work with it (not necessary for these files) etc. Not really any different to the set of issues you have to sort out running torrent software at home.

Sorry to disagree with you OD. Yes the seedbox is probably the cause of the problem, but it’s a solvable problem and there’s no such thing as “direct” or not. Now torrent anonymiser services can be an issue, but that’s not what a seedbox is.

        • Owen Smith January 21, 2016 at 00:32 #

And it seems to be working now anyway, those two titles are being downloaded by someone running Transmission 2.84 on what looks like a hosted server IP address.

While I have your attention, could you please restrict yourself to downloading no more than three titles at once as stated in the rules. I’ve seen that IP address before running Transmission 2.84 downloading 5 or 6 titles at once. You have come within a whisker of being blocked completely by me at least twice, and I have halted titles deliberately to cut you down to three at once. Assuming that was you and not someone else running Transmission 2.84 on the same hosting service. Why does this matter? Because you get an unfairly large proportion of mine and any other seed’s upstream bandwidth that’s why, reducing how much is available for other people which makes it unfair. If 10 torrents are running and 6 are to you, you get 60% of my torrent upstream bit rate and the other 4 people get 10% each, and that’s not fair.

Personally I’d like to be able to restrict each IP address to no more than a couple of torrents from me at once, but no torrent software has such a feature that I can find despite it being a trivial thing to add. So in the absence of the server coping with this unfairness sensibly, please don’t do it.

          • oxforddickie January 21, 2016 at 00:52 #

I have mentioned yhis to him before, in fact only a week or so ago, so i think it’s only fair on the other members that this should be considered as a final warning, limit to a max of three only.

            • Alfie January 21, 2016 at 09:21 #

Thanks both, I’ve now got those two downloaded now. I note your warning – last time I thought I’d been very careful only to download three at a time and I didn’t understand how it looked like I was doing more. As for Owen’s point, I suspect in the past I was downloading dead torrents to maximise the chances of grabbing something when someone came online, but I wasn’t aware that I’d done that recently.

Anyway, I’ll be very careful to close torrents even if they’re not moving and request re-seeds one by one. Sorry about that and thanks for your patience.

              • Owen Smith January 21, 2016 at 14:01 #

Nothing is dead. There are releases I’m not seeding, but post here and I can seed anything currently on the blog.

            • Alfie January 21, 2016 at 09:32 #

As a matter of interest, could you please check to see if there’s anything downloading at the moment as this might shed some light for me?

              • oxforddickie January 21, 2016 at 09:57 #

At this time there are no uploads from me at all, which makes a pleasant change LOL

                • Alfie January 21, 2016 at 14:39 #

Thanks for checking. I’m not sure why I’m getting >3 torrents showing – had a couple of theories. In future I’ll just do one at a time to be on the safe side.

OD, I seem to recall your ethernet-over-mains gear being quite new, possibly less than one year. So you may be able to get it replaced under gaurantee. Failing that, I have a spare pair that came free with a Youview trial box several years ago that I have no use for, they’re still in the shrink wrap. I don’t have access to them at the moment but when I do I’d be happy to post them to you, I am very unlikely to ever use them.

      • oxforddickie December 27, 2015 at 14:45 #

Yes, they are a few weeks fromthe guarentee running out, which is lucky, it’s just not a good time for them to go down. Have been to get them replaced, which wasn’t an issue except they didn’t have any of that model in.

After standing around a while the guy decided to get rid of me my offering to swap it for the equivilant Netgear version. Will sort it out later.

        Thanks for the offer though.

What says “Torrent Not Found”? Just in case i will seed it

      • oxforddickie December 7, 2015 at 14:23 #

Seems i’m already seeding it, so could it be your not correctly set up? did you read the email you found in the spam folder?

      • Owen Smith December 7, 2015 at 14:30 #

I am also already seeding this, I never stopped.

    • jrdaniels December 7, 2015 at 14:41 #

Perhaps your BT client has lost the .torrent file so I would advise you download it again. I am also seeding it but see no peers

      • rockysquirrel December 7, 2015 at 16:28 #

That’s strange. Right now I see no other seeders. Just a lecher in Germany with 11%.

      • Owen Smith December 7, 2015 at 20:54 #

Make sure you have Encryption enabled in your torrent client, otherwise you won’t see either myself or OD.

        • oxforddickie December 7, 2015 at 21:20 #

Of course all that information is on the email sent to people every time a torrent is requested and is also on the blog.
There’s really no reason people shouldn’t be aware of it, but as i’ve found, people have become bloody lazy and don’t read information when supplied it.

I won’t go on because it really does piss me off!

          • rockysquirrel December 7, 2015 at 23:08 #

I am confused about the settings in Tixati. I have Outgoing Peer Connection set to “Encrypted Preferred,” Incoming Peer Connection is set to “Accept Either.” At this moment, I don’t see anybody else on Atom Heart Mother. With these settings, I never have any problems downloading anything. I am uploading unencrypted things – old releases, CB releases, and Romanotrax’s Moody Blues reels..

            • oxforddickie December 7, 2015 at 23:20 #

Your settings are correct, there’s a possibility you won’t see other seeders, i often don’t.

            • Owen Smith December 8, 2015 at 09:25 #

Your settings are correct, or at least should work (I don’t allow any unencrypted connections).

Try “ping tracker.quadarchive.uk” and post the result here. You can’t ping the other tracker it never responds to pings (technical issue with Virgin broadband).

              • rockysquirrel December 9, 2015 at 18:50 #

Thank you, Owen. It pings well – 244ms.

              • Owen Smith December 10, 2015 at 01:34 #

OK so you can get to the tracker’s IP address. Next thing to do is in a browser try the full tracker announce address. I suggest Chrome, it’s a bit more revealing of the results than IE:

                http://tracker.quadarchive.uk:51299/announce

Should give “Bad request” or “400 Bad request” somewhere, depending on browser. The “Bad request” error comes from the tracker itself because the rest of the URL is wrong for the torrent to be found.

If you get this kind of error then it shows your PC can get a connection all the way to the tracker. Best to run it on the PC you’re running your torrent client on.

        • Owen Smith December 7, 2015 at 22:19 #

Encryption might not be the problem, I was just checking.

          • oxforddickie December 7, 2015 at 23:19 #

Today has been one of those days where they haven’t bothered opening their eyes or expecting me to know why they can’t connect to something which is obviously caused by an issue on their computer.

DS62f and DS420f I never stopped seeding, but I don’t see any downloaders. I have started seeding DS237f. That’s three and should keep you busy for a while.

DS192f I decline, OD has already stated he will do a new Phoenix decode of Zeit so I don’t see the point seeding the old one.

      • oxforddickie October 6, 2015 at 23:08 #

Well i’m seeding as well and like wise see nobody. As/when Zeit will be released i don’t know, there’s a bit of a backlog on the re-issues at the moment, i could put a re-issue a day but won’t as it there wouldn’t be any time for people to actually listen to them.
