Ralf Nowy – Lucifer’s Dream

7 Jun

For those that already have this from the previous release, i thoroughly recommend replacing it with this (v2) superior version.

Reference Series Releases contain:

Original QS encoded Stereo file for personal decode evaluation (MLP only)

QSd decoded versions via MLP, DTS, AC-3

All comments welcomed.

Well spotted, i was wondering if anyone would notce.
So, a little history on is album. It was released on a small label in Europe tied to EMI and all it had on the cover was that it was Quad. So, figuring it’s an EMI release i plumped for SQ, as you would normally do.

Was never overly impressed with the mix, and the fact it was such an early process i never thought anything about it. Recently i came across the reason why there was no proof it was quad other than it saying so, no SQ mark should have rung alarm bells.

The reason there was no indication was it was QS encoded, and i can’t imagine they’d be too happy about publicly releasing an album in their main competitor’s system.

The previous release of this on the blog DS409f was an SQ/II decode from an SQ encoded CD. So how is it now a QSd Reference Series? Was the original releases in both QS and SQ formats?

Again, sorry. The stereo tracks are empty.

There’s no need to be sorry, although the tracks are there, they play silently! I’ll look into it.
      Thanks
