Staggered Closedown

21 May

Originally i was going to do a mass release of titles i had either completed, partly done or had planned to do, but it was quite a project and nothing was getting done.

Owen suggested i break it down, which after much thought, i have done. It will follow in four parts:  UHJ, Dolby Surround, QS and lastly SQ.

After that DS600 will be released to finally close the doors.

I hope you find the collection (over the two blogs) of releases of some small interest.

Truly the end of an era OD. Sad to see you go as the internet seems to increasingly be a strip mall of content consumption rather than the collection of cool content providers like yourself. I miss going to sites curated by people with true passions about something rather than corporate sites with nothing on their mind but more ad clicks. A tip of the hat my friend to another legendary site gone silent.

Sad news OD, but if you can’t do it, you can’t do it. Haven’t been for a while, but this is due to life getting in the way rather than not wanting to be here or your collecting Quad rips. Thanks for some great albums conversions and all the best for the future.

    THANK YOU. You’ll be missed.

Thank you so much for the fabulous sounds and mind-blowing eclecticism. There is so much music you’ve brought forward that I was completely unaware of. And your fabulous attention to detail and constant improvement has really been inspiring. The way you did it was always the way it should be done.

OD, I can’t thank you enough for all the amazing music you’ve shared here on the blog. A top job on every project I’ve heard, with such great attention to detail, right down to the inserts you carefully produced and included with each one. I’m so happy, too, that you’re sending it all out in a grand fashion.

Wishing you the absolute best in all future pursuits!

I’ve been giving the blog a final trawl to pick up some I passed on originally. Thanks again OD (and CB) but also thank you Owen for your many considered comments – I’ve found them very helpful when trying to decide what might be worth grabbing.

I’m rather behind in leaving comments. Over the last year my listening time has reduced and OD’s output rate has at times been high. I’ve got dozens and dozens of releaeses I haven’t listened to yet. Thankyou for your appreciation of the comments I have managed to leave.

I second the sentiment that Owen’s comment & review of so many releases are a very valuable component of the blog. I find them insightful – and usually coincide with my reaction to the decodes.

Thanks Owen, for tipping me toward a number of titles I would otherwise have passed on.

It will be a shame to have all the comments associated with OD’s masterwork disappear, when the plug is pulled on DSQA 😦

Everything must come to an end, but this final blowout of releases should be great fun. Thanks again for all that you’ve done!
