This is much better than I was expecting. The quad mix is very discrete and a true demonstration of the abilities of Phoenix. The first track opens with instruments rear left and then adds some rear right, and there’s no trace of them in the front speakers. Phoenix working it’s magic again. The album continues to do this throughout. I’m not sure all of this active mixing quite suits all of the tracks it’s in, but none of it is jarring.

Musically Mathis is better than I’d remembered. I was expecting easy listening which it is but it’s also more than that, it’s good music well sung.

A great treat! Always liked Mathis, with his instantly recognizable voice. This is a true quad recording, for sure. Just love when instruments pop out in unexpected places!

Wow!! This is cool. I just checked, there were a total of 7 Mathis QUAD releases. He covered some really great songs.
