Help needed on a B.B.King LP

10 Jun

One of the problems i run into while tracking down releases i don’t already own is whether a particular that has been believed to be quad for years actually is. There were many on Mark Anderson’s list that were down as being QS releases that weren’t, the soundtrack to Tommy, the Climax Blues albums and many others.

Now i have a question i’m hoping one of you might be able to help me with. It concerns the B.B.King album ‘In London’. Nowhere can i find any prof that it was released in quad apart from Marks’s list, the American LP cover i’ve seen doesn’t mention anything, and a test decode gives nothing nice.

So, if you own the album could you look to see if your copy mentions it?

OK, I’m pretty sure that the LP isn’t QS encoded, unless anyone can provide evidence otherwise.

The problem is that you use more than one email address, and when i send you things they just bounce back.

Please sort this out and do not use address’s that do not accept return emails

I have this disc and no where does it mention it is quad.Although I believe it was mixed by the same people that did the other King discs.Additionally I read a review of the Q8 someone did and they stated the rears are mostly ambience. It may not be conclusive evidence it is QS but that is what I know of this disc.

Thanks for that, i’ll take a more in-depth look at a track, but now i know it may just be ambience on the rears it may be more positive.

It is odd though, ABC were never shy of mentioning a release was quad on the cover.
