What a stunningly beautiful recording. Not at all discreet, but I feel like I’m sitting with my favorite blanket (of music) surrounding me. Nice job capturing it with your equipment.

You wouldn’t expect this to sound discrete since it’s a UHJ recording. These use ambisonics.

Very laid back musically, I wish it would wake up occasionally. The surround field is very subtle like most of the UHJ releases, though this one is actually working for me. I can’t make my mind up whether this is Folk or Blues, but they’re just labels so it doesn’t really matter.

The album cover makes sense now I know it was an ambisonic recording. The colouration and edges of shapes are reminiscent of an early 3D photograph looked at from the wrong angle or wrong 3D specs. THis is a very cool quad. Thanks OD!

Was this recording was captured entirely on a single stereo microphone?

No. Like the previous album, it was recorded live using a single Calrec Ambisonic microphone direct into a stereo DAT recorder

Thanks for this OD. I look forward to downloading & playing this. In the interim I’ll go & pay my stereo CD as a warm up.
