“Electrified Funk” is certainly correct, there are plenty of funky sounds in this. The guitars are great throughout, and the saxophones add nicely to the mood in the tracks they are used on. Another album that you immediately know is from the 1970s when you hear it.

I never new Donnie Iris participated in Wild Cherry {not this album}, but I love telling a Donnie Iris and the Cruisers story any chance I get, but it will only make sense if you live in or near Cleveland,OH or Pittsburg, PA…and/or understand the worst a sports rivalry can bring out in a crowd.[I know the UK loves their football and have raised the bleachers, or lowered them at times] This was just way strange and I never expected a music crowd to do this…….
The day was Sunday in Cleveland early 80’s the day after the Pittsburg Steelers beat the Cleveland Browns to deny our going to the first round of playoffs when we had a real team before the shuffled off to Baltimore……….Cruisers [being from Pittsburg] opened for the Canadian band Triumph. First mistake “and now from Pittsburg Donnie Iris and the Cruisers” BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..

3000+ Sold out crowd at the top of their lungs Throwing cups and whatever, Donnie made it half way through the 3ed song I believe before walking off the stage. Never saw a band get hit with such a load roar of Boo’s. Couldn’t hear the band was deafining .
