I was expecting something a bit more like Thriller, but was pleasantly surprised by what is actually on here. Great harmonies and much use of instruments not common on popular albums eg. flute on track 3. I like the tuba bass line in the rears working with the trombones on the last track, it sounds like the tuba player was having a great time.

Brilliant. The first track here, “Summer In The City” won a Grammy award for Best Instrumental Arrangement in 1974 (it’s very imaginative), but what a career this man has had. 79 Grammy Nominations (27 wins), Oscar score and song nominations (1 win), producer of the most successful album in history (Michael Jackson’s Thriller), and recently inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. He worked with Ray Charles, Sarah Vaughn, Miles Davis, and survived major brain surgery while being married to beautiful actress. What charmed life, and still going at age 80.
Oh…great album by the way, with top jazz artists. Thanks, O.D! I know Body Heat and maybe Walking In Space are available in Quad, but this would have been my top choice.
