Capitol never really entered into the Quad arena, which is a shame consider the artists they had at the time, but rather released a number of ‘samplers’, as if testing the market. This particular title contains songs not released in quad anywhere else, and by artists who had no full quad releases

Some songs are OK, some not, but nothing really grabs my interest here. But then Country as a genre has never been particularly popular in the UK. Indeed the UK attitude to Country is summed up by the joke in Blue Brothers: “so what what kind of music do you like?” “Oh we like both kinds, Country AND Western”.

This was one of a small group of LPs that Capitol Special Markets did in Quad; some with various artists like this one. One was “Great Songs of Bachrach & David”. Another was “Songs of the Seventies” by a pick-up group called Sounds of the 70’s Orchestra.

    Just a little FYI.

That looks good, is there a track listing? Glen Campbell and Bobby Gentry (can only be her one song, never heard it in quad!!)

SQ-PPR was good enough for me.

    Waiting for “Babs”
