S.Arima & Misty Sounds – Dock Of The Bay

This album is very much of it’s time, being of the Hammond/Moog/Backing Band style. After a search through the Internet, this particular album popped up in many peoples lists, and all played it in stereo. So, for those who enjoy a taste of nostalgia (and I’ll admit, i enjoyed listening to it), here it is in all of it’s Quadraphonic glory……

Oh dear, 1970s lift music. As ever from Malcolm Piper this is an excellent quality CD-4 transfer, and the last of his that I hadn’t listened to. But my word the music bored me to the point I was simply ignoring it. Oh well, all part of the journey of life.

Speaking of requests, are you planning more of the Columbia SQ releases via SQ360?

I know that a re-do of the “Annie” Original Cast Recording is coming.

I'd like to suggest a SQ360 edition of Johnny Mathis' “I'm Coming Home” album. It was produced by Thom Bell of Spinners and Stylistics fame and would be a treat with your new script!

The sound of being tickled in quad! It fizzes and bounces around the room like Enoch Light's littler and sillier half-sibling.

Great quality throughout – the character of the synths is perfectly preserved.

Thanks as ever, I can see this getting played after dinner with friends in the true 70s spirit of it's release.

Because of the nature of CD-4 disc's it would be foolish to give a list of albums we have, as so many have had to be scrapped so far because they are un-usable

That's fun. Very much in the light and almost humorous style of some of the JVC Movie Music CD-4s from the Quad Era.

Do you have any hints at “what's coming next” from your CD-4 collection?

Looking forward to the upcoming issues. Sonically these are very good !
