O.D., I know this is one of your older decodes, but it is a stand out great job!

You, along with other generous people in the Quadraphonic community, allow us to hear these classics. I don’t like to sit around and wait for corporate people like Hoffman and Audio Fidelity to make up their minds whether or not to release these on SACD. In fact, I’d prefer if they didn’t.

Also, it’s worth pointing out again that your wonderful foresight to keep these on DVD-A’s allows more of us access to these, rather than SACD

Many thanks, although it is an older decode. The reason i’ve not done a ‘Phoenix’ re-issue is because it has been officially released, unfortunately on SACD, which of course does limit its sale somewhat.

Yes, I forgot about the official release! Thanks for the reminder. I know that label that did it is known for their great masterings, but I do disagree with their medium choice.

The irony is, in my opinion, these recent official releases were inspired by the popularity of websites like yours. Now, if they spent more time staying faithful to the originals like you do, they might have something 🙂

I agree that the work by myself, AOQ & Romanotrax probably showed the record companies that there was enough interest in the old quad releases for them to make money out of them, although i’m still of a mind that by choosing SACD as the prefered format seriously limits the sales possibilities. But, as i’ve recently stated, the recent Vocalion releases have weakened my objections a little, making the aquacion of an SACD player a more worthwhile purchase.

I gave this a quick listen earlier today, and one thing which I noticed is that the tracks which were originally released on Stand all play at a slower tape speed on this release (Stand, You Can Make It If You Try and Everyday People). The other tracks sound fine (from memory), and I don’t remember there being any speed discrepancies on the regular release, so I’m wondering if Stand was sped-up when it was originally mixed.

Another corker – really very discrete indeed and another instant quad party disc. Listening to these lovely releases is like you've been invited into a secret club where music sounds like it really should. Thank you.

The disc's are meant to be burnt “as is”, and it's always best to read the blog before downloading

Thank you so much for all the amazing work you are doing here. A quick question: does this Sly disc have video content? I tried to make an DVD-A with just the Audio_TS folder but that came out a coaster. When I burn the iso itself, I get the MLP layer on my DVD-A player and the DTS layer on my standard DVD player…but no video content. Blank screen on both. Just curious if it was supposed to have it. The transfer sounds amazing. Thanks again for all the effort!
